So i just went and did something totally crazy and bought the new Canon R5 Mark II after seeing some reviews online but honestly i think i might be in over my head because the menus are so confusing lol. Im trying to get ready for my sisters wedding in Tuscany next summer and she really wants me to take some nice portraits of her and her fiance but i dont even have a lens yet.

I spent way too much on the camera itself so im looking for something under 1500 dollars if possible because my bank account is hurting. I keep hearing that prime lenses are what people use for that nice soft background look but i dont know if i should get a 50mm or an 85mm or what the difference even is for a beginner like me. I really want her to look amazing and not like i just used a phone camera but there are so many options and i dont want to waste money on the wrong thing.

Someone mentioned the f1.2 ones but those are like double my budget so is there something else that still looks professional for a newbie? Im really worried about messing this up since it is such a big trip... which prime lens is actually the best one for a beginner doing portraits on this camera?
