Finally snagged an R5 Mark II for my Japan trip next month but need a walk-around lens. Read the 24-70mm 2.8 is the gold standard, but the price hurts.
Some say the 24-105mm f/4 is enough, but is it sharp enough for that high-res sensor? Kinda lost... what should I actually get?

Actually the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM handles the high-res sensor quite well. MTF charts show it holds up fine unless youre pixel peeping at the corners. For Japan, that extra 105mm reach is huge and it has 5 stops of internal IS. If youll be shooting dark alleys in Shinjuku though, definitely save up for the Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8 L IS USM for that extra stop of light. It comes down to reach versus aperture.
