Seriously, where are you guys finding actual deals on Sony mirrorless bodies because I am losing my mind over these prices.
I've been eyeing the a7IV for like six months now but every time I look at B&H or Adorama the price is exactly the same or maybe 50 bucks off if I'm lucky. My old Canon rebel is literally falling apart and the shutter is sticking so I need to switch ASAP for a wedding I'm shooting in July in Chicago but my budget is strictly under 2k for the body. Is there some secret refurbished site or a specific time of month when Amazon drops prices? I'm honestly so fed up with checking every morning just to see the same retail price tags. Is eBay even safe for this stuff or am I gonna get scammed...
tbh big stores like B&H usually follow MAP pricing so they wont budge much. if you need the Sony Alpha a7 IV 33MP Full-frame Mirrorless Body for under 2k, your best bet is checking Greentoe or looking for used units on MPB. i wouldnt trust ebay for a wedding kit unless the seller has a 100% rating and detailed photos of the sensor. the 33MP Exmor R sensor and BIONZ XR processor are huge leaps over a Rebel... the 15+ stops of dynamic range will really save you during those chicago outdoor ceremonies. if a7IV prices stay high, maybe look at a used Sony Alpha a7 III 24.2MP Full-frame Mirrorless Body instead. it still has 693 phase-detection points and handles low light decently. check out the used sites first... they usually offer a 6-month warranty which is peace of mind for a pro. let me know if you need more data on the burst rates or buffer specs.
