I finally pulled the trigger on the X-S20 because I wanted that better battery life and the IBIS for handheld video but now Im in a total panic. I leave for a two week trip to Japan in literally six days and I just realized my current kit is all big heavy primes which is gonna be a nightmare for walking 20k steps a day in Tokyo. Ive been a Fuji shooter for like five years but I always stayed away from the zooms because I was a bit of a prime snob honestly but now I actually need the versatility.

I was looking at the 18-55 kit lens since its small but people keep mentioning the 18-120 or maybe the Tamron 17-70? But that Tamron looks massive and I dont want to ruin the balance of the smaller X-S20 body. I need something that can handle street photography at night but also get some reach for the temples in Kyoto. My budget is capped at about 900 bucks cause the camera body already set me back a ton. Should I go with the old reliable 18-55 or is there something better for travel that covers more range without being a brick?

I keep seeing 23mm and 35mm mentioned everywhere but my logic was that I should get a zoom so I can see things far away?

So I finally pulled the trigger on the X-T5 last week and man that 40mp sensor is no joke. I moved over from an old Sony setup because I wanted those Fuji colors but now I'm stuck trying to figure out which zoom to actually live with day to day. I'm heading to Japan for two weeks next month and I really only want to carry one lens if I can help it since I'm trying to pack light for once.

I've been looking at the XF 16-80mm f4 because that extra reach seems super useful for street stuff but I keep reading reviews saying it doesnt really hold up on the new high res sensor. Like its soft in the corners or something? Then there is the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 which is tiny and super sharp from what I've seen but I really love the aperture rings on the Fuji lenses so I feel like I'd miss that tactile feel. Also saw the 18-55mm kit lens for cheap used but it feels weird putting such an old lens on a brand new 40mp body... budget is around $700 max and I need to buy something before the trip. If I'm doing a mix of landscape and just random food/city shots which one is gonna give me the best balance? Is the 16-80 actually that bad or are people just being overly picky...

I mostly do street stuff at night and Im worried the 35mm is too tight for narrow sidewalks but then the 23mm might be too wide and Ill have to get too close to people. My budget is super strict at $350 max so Im looking at used gear online. Is the 23mm really that soft wide open or am I just overthinking it...

So I finally pulled the trigger on the Fuji X-S20 and I'm honestly so stoked to start using it. I’ve been a hobbyist for a while but my cousin just asked me to take some engagement photos for her next month in Portland and I really want to step up my game with a proper prime lens.

I’ve been scouring the forums and I keep seeing people rave about the XF 56mm f1.2 but then I read that the autofocus on the older version is kinda clunky and slow which makes me nervous for candid shots. Then there is the 50mm f2 which is way more affordable and tiny but I'm worried it wont give me that really creamy background blur I’m looking for. My budget is probably capped at like $600 or maybe $700 if I find a good deal on a used one because I also need to buy some extra batteries for the shoot.

The X-S20 has that great ibis so maybe I dont need the fastest lens in the world but I still want something sharp for people. Should I just save the cash and go for the f2 or is the 56mm really that much better for professional looking portraits even if its older? Or maybe something like the Viltrox 75mm? People say that one is a beast but it looks huge and heavy for the S20 body... what do you guys think?

So I finally pulled the trigger on a silver X-T30 II and I am obsessed with the look but now I am stuck on what glass to actually use for street stuff. I am planning a trip to Chicago in a few weeks and really want to keep the kit tiny so I can just blend in while walking around the Loop. I have been doing some digging and the obvious choice seems to be the Fuji 27mm f2.8 pancake lens but honestly the price for a used one is still pretty steep for me right now - my budget is strictly around $250 max after buying the camera body.

I saw some reviews for that TTArtisan 27mm AF lens which is way cheaper and seems perfect on paper but then I read a few threads saying the corners are super soft and the autofocus hunting is a nightmare in lower light. My logic was that maybe I could just go manual with a 7Artisans lens for like $100 but I am worried I will miss all my shots because I am not fast enough at focusing yet. Then there is the XC 35mm f2 which is cheap and light but it is not a pancake so it kind of ruins the pocketable vibe I am going for... basically I am just going in circles. Should I just bite the bullet and save for the real Fuji pancake or are the cheap third party ones actually decent for quick street snaps?

So I finally made the jump from my old Sony a6400 to the X-S20 because I was just done with editing raws for hours and really wanted those Fuji film sims. The IBIS on this thing is honestly incredible but the kit zoom is just... I dunno it feels a bit clinical? I'm heading to Chicago next month for a week of wandering around and I really need a fast prime to stay on the camera the whole time.

Budget is around 600 or 700 bucks max so I'm not looking at the super high end red badge stuff yet. I was leaning towards the 23mm f2 because its tiny and weather sealed but I've heard the 35mm f1.4 has that magic rendering everyone talks about even though it's an older design. My worry is the autofocus speed on the older lenses

I've been shooting for years but this is my first time in the Fuji ecosystem and I'm not sure if the X-S20's newer processor actually makes those old motors faster or if it's still gonna hunt in low light.

I mostly do street photography and some casual video for a vlog I'm starting so I need something that wont look jittery. Should I go with the newer f2 stuff for the reliability or is the 1.4 glass actually worth the trade-off in speed? I've seen some Viltrox stuff too but I'm worried about the color shift matching the Fuji profiles...
