I just bought this X-Pro3 because I saw some cool videos and it looked like a fun camera but honestly I feel like an idiot right now because I cant get any good photos with it. I thought it would be easy but everything I take looks blurry or just kind of boring and grey. I have that zoom lens thing that came in the box but it is so big and heavy and I feel like people are staring at me every time I try to take a picture on the sidewalk so I get nervous and just put it away. I keep hearing that prime lenses are the way to go for street stuff because they are smaller but I have no idea what the numbers mean or which one to get. One guy on a video said 23mm and then someone else said 35mm is better and I am just so confused and frustrated. I am going on a trip to New York in about three weeks and I really want to take some cool shots of the crowds and the buildings but I only have maybe $500 left to spend after buying the actual camera. Is there just one lens that is like the best one for a beginner so I dont have to keep switching them out? I really dont want to mess up the camera by taking the lens off all the time... sorry if this is a dumb question I just dont know where to start.

I saw some decent prices on Adorama but they're mostly just for the body and the kits are still way out of my range. I checked some gray market sites too but they feel sketchy and I'm worried about the warranty being void. I'm based in LA and need this for a concert gig next month and I don't want to overpay.

What I'm looking for:

Budget is around 1500-1600 max

Really want the 24-70mm kit lens

Must be a US model for the warranty

Is there some secret site I'm missing or should I just wait for a holiday sale...?

I'm honestly a bit in over my head though. I want that look where the person is super sharp but the background is all blurry and nice, but looking at the lens list is just making my head spin. I dont really understand the difference between all the numbers and letters. Is there one specific lens that is just the absolute sharpest for faces? My budget is around 5000 dollars maybe? I just want the best one so I dont have to buy another one later. Sorry if this is a really basic thing to ask but I'm just so lost with all the options...

Finally pulled the trigger on the R50 for my trip to Tokyo next month and I'm honestly so stoked about how light this thing is compared to my old setup. I've been shooting on a bulky 5D Mark III for over a decade so I know my way around a manual exposure and depth of field, but man, switching to the RF-S system for travel is a whole different ballgame. I'm trying to avoid carrying a massive camera bag since we're gonna be walking like 15 miles a day through Shinjuku and Kyoto.

I've got about $700 left in my gear budget after the body purchase. I was looking at the RF-S 18-150mm because the focal range is insane for a single lens, but I'm slightly worried about that f/6.3 on the long end when we're tucked away in those dim izakayas at night. Then again, if I just grab a 35mm prime I'm gonna be bummed when I cant zoom in on the architecture or mountain views. Is the 18-150 really the gold standard for a one-lens setup here or is there some hidden gem I should look at? Maybe adapting an older EF-S lens is the move? Just need something versatile that wont kill my neck by day three...

Spent all night looking at the RF 15-35mm f2.8 and the 14-35mm f4 and I'm just stuck. Some say the f4 is sharper at the edges but then my logic was that I'm gonna need that f2.8 for the low light inside this old church. But then I read the 14-35 has way more distortion that the camera fixes automatically? I have about $2200 to spend and need to order it tonight so it arrives in time. Is the extra stop of light worth the extra weight and cash for indoor shots?...

Which prime lens should I buy for my Sony Alpha a6000 because I am totally lost with all these different numbers and brands? I just got this camera used from a friend because I wanted to start taking better photos of my family and maybe some of the stuff I cook but I'm realizing the lens it came with isn't giving me that really nice blurry background that I see everyone else getting. Someone told me I need a prime lens but I dont even really know what that means other than it doesn't zoom? Which sounds kind of annoying but if it makes the pictures look better then I'm down to try it.

I've been looking at stuff on Amazon and B&H and there are so many options it's making my head spin. Like there is a 35mm and a 50mm and then some say f1.8 and others say f4 and I have no clue if a bigger number is better or worse for what I want to do. I live in a pretty small apartment in Seattle so I'm usually pretty close to whatever I'm shooting and I'm worried if I get the wrong one I won't be able to fit everyone in the picture without hitting the wall behind me.

My budget is pretty tight like maybe $250 or $300 max because I already spent a lot on the camera body itself. I'm hoping to get something before my sisters wedding next month so I can practice a bit. Here is what I think I need:

something that works good when it's kind of dark inside

making the background look blurry for portraits

not too heavy because I want to carry it around at the park

something easy for a total beginner who doesnt know settings yet

I'm sorry if these are really dumb questions I just feel overwhelmed by all the technical talk online and just want to know what the standard first lens should be for someone like me who just wants pretty pictures of their kids and dog...
