honestly so over the kit zoom for my x-h2s its just not cutting it anymore for my professional work and i feel like i wasted money on this body if the glass is gonna hold me back. the background blur is basically nonexistent and i keep getting these soft edges when im shooting portraits outdoors i feel like my photos look like they came from a phone or something. ive got a family shoot this coming saturday here in chicago and i need something that actually makes the subjects pop i cant keep handing over these flat images its so embarrassing and frustrating. i need a prime lens that actually matches the speed of the h2s sensor because i feel like im fighting the gear more than shooting right now.

  • budget is around 900 bucks absolute max
  • needs to be really fast like f1.4 or f1.2 because i shoot in evening light a lot
  • autofocus has to be snappy no hunting around especially for eye detect
  • sharp wide open because i hate stopping down just to get usable shots

im looking at the old 56mm f1.2 but i heard the autofocus is slow as hell even on the newer bodies and then there is the new 56mm wr but its so pricey and i dont know if its worth the jump. or maybe the 33mm f1.4? i really need to order this tonight so it gets here by friday... what do i even buy

I was honestly so disappointed with the original Fujifilm Fujinon XF 56mm f/1.2 R, the autofocus is just too clunky for the H2S. Its a total letdown. You should definitely look at the Fujifilm Fujinon XF 33mm f/1.4 R LM WR for pure speed, or even the Viltrox 75mm f/1.2 AF Pro which is surprisingly sharp for the price. The old Fuji 56 just wont cut it for pro work anymore.
