I've read the 35mm APO is the gold standard, but some reviews say the 24-90mm zoom is basically just as good. I'm heading to Banff next month and want to make huge prints, so I'm worried about corner softness. Is the prime really worth it?

I keep seeing people rave about the 24-90mm Vario-Elmarit and my logic was that native glass is always better but man it looks huge for 10-mile hikes.

I also read that the Sigma 24mm Art is sharp for way less but I worry I'll miss that micro-contrast people talk about with Leica glass. Budget is around 3k so I could go used on the Leica zoom but is the weight gonna kill me? Or should I look at the 21mm Super-Elmar-M with an adapter... do the corners hold up on the SL2 sensor?

I honestly have no idea what I'm doing and I'm starting to regret buying this thing. I got the Leica SL2 because everyone said it was the best but I'm so frustrated right now. I'm going to New York next Thursday for a big vacation and I wanted to take pictures of the skyscrapers and architecture but the lens that came with it makes everything look like it's right in my face. I can't even fit the whole building in the shot unless I walk like three blocks away and then there's cars in the way. I looked online and people talk about 24mm or 16-35 and I have literally no clue what any of that means or if it even fits my camera. I dont want to buy the wrong thing because everything for this brand is like thousands of dollars and my budget is already stretched thin after the camera purchase, maybe I can do another $1800 or $2000 max if it's really worth it. Is there a lens that just makes the view wider? Like way wider? I just want to see more of the street and the tops of the buildings without it being all blurry or weird looking. Sorry if this is a really stupid question but I'm totally drowning here and the manual is just confusing. What wide lens should I actually buy for this camera before my trip?

So I finally made the jump from Sony over to the Lumix S5II a few months back and I am absolutely loving the colors and the phase hybrid AF is actually legit for once. I usually just stick to the 1.8 primes for my street stuff but I just landed a landscape gig for a client in Iceland next month and I am getting a bit nervous about the weather sealing and salt spray if I keep switching lenses in the field.

I need a solid all-around zoom that I can basically leave on the body for the whole trip. I was looking at a few different options:

Lumix 24-105mm f4 Macro

Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 Art

Panasonic 20-60mm kit lens

The 24-105 seems great because of the OIS and the macro capability which is super handy for textures but then I saw the Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 Art II just came out and now I am second guessing everything. Is the f2.8 worth the extra weight when I am hiking 10 miles a day? My budget is capped at about 1400 bucks so I might have to look at used copies if I go for the premium glass. Does anyone have real world experience with how the 24-105 holds up compared to the Sigma in terms of sharpness at the long end? Just trying to find the best balance of weight and image quality before I pull the trigger...

Ive been looking hard at the 50mm f2 Summicron-SL since its so sharp but then I read some threads saying the 90mm APO is the gold standard for skin tones and compression.

so I was thinking maybe the 50 is too wide for tight shots? but then I worry the 90 is too long for the small studio space I booked. my logic was to maybe split the difference with the 75mm but people say that focal length is a weird compromise and now im just totally stuck. i have about 5k to spend and need to pull the trigger tonight to get shipping in time. what do you guys actually use for pro work?
