Is the Leica 24-90mm worth the price for L-mount cameras?

So I finally saved up enough to buy a proper camera setup after using my phone for years. I picked up a Lumix S5II because the guy at the shop said it was great for someone like me just starting out with photography. Now I need a lens and I keep seeing people talk about the Leica 24-90mm f/2.8-4.

I looked at the price tag and almost fell over. Like, why is it so expensive? I dont really know much about glass or optics or whatever, but is it actually going to make my photos look thousands of dollars better than a cheaper lens? Im mainly just trying to take nice pictures of my dog at the park and maybe some travel shots when I go to Italy next spring.

I really dont want to waste my budget on something that is overkill for a beginner, but I also dont want to buy something cheap now and have to replace it in six months if it breaks or takes blurry pics. Is the Leica one actually worth it for a total newbie, or should I just get something else?

Im trying to figure out which zoom lens is gonna give me the sharpest results on my S5II. Ive been doing a ton of research lately and honestly my head is spinning. I keep seeing people swear by the Lumix 24-70mm f/2.8 Pro, but then I read a few threads where people say the Sigma 24-70mm DG DN II is basically indistinguishable for half the price. My logic was that native glass would always be the clear winner for autofocus reliability but maybe Im just overthinking it? Im mainly shooting street photography and some light landscape work in Seattle where the weather is always kinda gloomy so that f/2.8 aperture is non-negotiable for me.

Budget wise I have about 2k saved up, but I really dont want to blow it all if the sharpness difference is negligible. Is the Panasonic one actually worth the extra premium for the build or is the Sigma actually just better value for money now that the II version is out? I have a trip to the coast coming up in a month so I need to make a decision soon before I head out. If anyone has used both on the S5II specifically I would love to hear if the focus breathing or edge sharpness is a dealbreaker for either one...

Honestly, im about two seconds away from throwing my current setup out the window. Ive been shooting portraits for a local clothing boutique here in Chicago, and while the SL is a beast, my current zoom lens just isnt giving me that dreamy, buttery background separation I need for their lookbook. Its so sharp it hurts, but it lacks soul, you know?

I was looking at the Leica APO-Summicron-SL 75mm f/2 but the price tag is honestly making me sweat, especially since I need to pick something up before the shoot next Friday. My logic was that a native prime would finally nail the autofocus consistency Im missing, but then I started looking at adapted M-mount glass, which sounds like a nightmare for fast-paced studio work. Im just stuck in a loop here. Should I just bite the bullet and go for the SL prime, or is there something else that actually renders beautifully without costing as much as my first car? Kinda just want that classic look without the focus miss-rate that's been driving me absolutely crazy all month. Has anyone here actually used the 75 or 90 primes for pro work, or am I just buying into the hype?

Just picked up a Lumix S5II for my trip to Japan next month and I am totally lost on lenses. The camera came with a kit zoom but everything I read says I need a prime lens for better photos at night. I really dont know what all the numbers mean, honestly. My budget is like 600 bucks tops because the camera body already drained my savings account. I just want something that makes my travel shots look professional without being super heavy to carry around all day. Ive been shooting street with my Lumix S5 for about three years now and honestly I love the color science but lately Ive been feeling like my glass situation is holding me back. I started out with the kit 20-60mm which is decent enough for travel but now that Im getting more serious about capturing candid street stuff in downtown Chicago I find myself needing something smaller and faster especially for the winter months coming up when the light just drops off after 4pm.

I have about 800 bucks to spend and Ive been going back and forth between picking up one of the Sigma I-series primes or just sticking with the Panasonic Lumix S line. I tried the Sigma 35mm f/2 and the build quality is insane, like really solid, but sometimes I feel like the focus transitions on my S5 are just snappier with native Panasonic glass. Is it just me or is the DFD system actually working better with the native primes? I really need something sharp that wont slow me down when I see a shot in the alleyways. Ive been eyeing the Panasonic 35mm f/1.8 because of the weight saving but those Sigma build aesthetics are so tempting and the aperture rings feel way better in the hand when your gloves are on.

Im kind of in a rush because I have a street photography workshop next month and I need to stop second guessing my kit and just commit to a lens. Has anyone actually compared these side by side for quick street work? Does the Sigma optical performance really justify the slight AF weirdness I think Im seeing or should I just stay native and play it safe with the Lumix lens...

I finally pulled the trigger and got a Lumix S5II last week! Honestly Im so excited but also super overwhelmed because the camera came with a kit lens but I feel like I need something else if I want that blurry background look everyone has on Instagram. Im totally new to all this, sorry if this is a dumb question but what are the actual lens names I should be looking at? I dont really understand the f-stop numbers or focal lengths yet, like, is a 50mm better than a 35mm for taking pictures of my dog in the backyard?

I live in Chicago and I have a trip coming up to the zoo in about three weeks so I need something before then. My budget is super tight though, I think I have like maybe 400 or 500 dollars left after buying the camera body. I was looking online and saw some Sigma lenses but they seem expensive? Or maybe I just dont know where to look. I also saw some brands I didnt recognize that were really cheap but are those garbage? I really just want something that makes my photos look professional without having to sell a kidney.
