So I finally pulled the trigger on a Z6ii for my trip to Tokyo next month and I'm totally stuck on what lens to stick on it. I spent hours reading reviews and everyone keeps bringing up the 24-120mm f/4 S because it's supposedly pro glass but then I see people swearing by the 24-200mm for travel since it's an all-in-one deal. My budget is about $1100 and I really want something that can handle everything from landscape to street shots at night without being too heavy.

Is the f/4 on the 120mm actually worth losing that extra reach or am I gonna regret not having the 200mm when I'm out there?

Ive been stuck on this for like two weeks now and honestly I keep going back and forth on what makes the most sense for my D5600. Im heading out to Oregon next month for a road trip so I really want something better than the basic 18-55 kit lens but my budget is pretty firm at $250 maybe $300 if I find a good deal on ebay.

So I was thinking about the Nikon 35mm f/1.8G since everyone says its the must-have for DX users. My logic was that it's tiny and great for low light but then I realized it might be too tight for the landscape shots I want to get at the coast. That led me to looking at the Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 used. It seems like a beast of a lens and it replaces the kit range but im worried it might be too heavy for hiking all day? Then there is the Nikon 10-20mm AF-P which is super wide and within budget but obviously slower.

Basically I am torn between:

the 35mm prime for the bokeh and sharpness

the sigma 17-50 for the versatility of a constant f/2.8

the wide angle 10-20 for the scenery

I dont know if I should prioritize the low light speed or the wide view. Does anyone still use the Sigma on these older bodies or is it too clunky compared to the newer AF-P glass...

Usually Im shooting on a D850 and my 24-70mm 2.8 is just way too intimidating for candid shots.

I want something fast and small that wont break the bank maybe under $400 used. Been looking at the 35mm 1.8G vs the old 28mm AF-D but I cant decide if the older glass is too slow for fast moving people? Whats the best f-mount prime that stays low profile but keeps up with the action?

What prime lens should I buy for my Nikon D850 for a portrait gig I have coming up in literally four days? I'm kind of panicking because my zoom lens just bit the dust and I need something sharp for a professional headshot session. I did some digging and everyone keeps pointing toward the 85mm f/1.8G saying the bokeh is incredible but then I read a bunch of reviews saying the 105mm macro is actually better for skin tones and now I'm just lost. I'm worried the 105 is gonna be way too long since I'm working in a pretty small living room setup in Seattle and I won't have room to back up enough to get the shots I need.

My budget is strictly under 500 dollars because I'm just starting out and honestly the 85mm fits that but the 50mm f/1.4 is also right there and people say it's more versatile for indoor stuff. I'm doing mostly half-body and tight headshots so I need something that wont distort the face too much but still gives me that blurry background everyone wants. Should I just stick with the 85mm and hope the room is big enough or is the 50mm a safer bet for a cramped space? I need to order this tonight to get it here in time...

Honestly I am so fed up with my current setup and I really need a fix before my trip to Acadia next Thursday. I have been using the Z5 with that tiny 24-50 kit lens and it is just driving me insane because the aperture is so slow and the range is basically non-existent for anything interesting. I tried carrying around a couple of primes like the 35mm and the 85mm but honestly switching them out while hiking is a nightmare and I already got dust on my sensor twice which cost a fortune to clean. I just want one single lens that can handle landscape stuff but also take decent portraits of my wife without looking like a cell phone photo. My budget is topped out at about $1200 because I already spent way too much on the body itself. I was looking at the 24-120mm f4 or maybe even a third party thing like Tamron but I dont know if the quality is actually there or if I am just gonna be disappointed again. I'm tired of missing shots because I'm fumbling in my bag while the light is changing. Is there actually a holy grail for the Z mount that I can just leave on the camera forever? What is the best all-around lens for Nikon Z series cameras that wont break my back or my bank account?

My sister is getting married in like three weeks and shes counting on me to do her official portraits at the local botanical gardens and I am literally panicking right now. I have the lens that came with it but someone told me I need a prime lens for that blurry background look everyone likes? I dont even really know what a prime lens is I think it means it doesnt zoom? I have about 700 or maybe 800 dollars left in my savings to buy one more lens before the wedding date on the 24th and I just need something that will make her look amazing and not like a blurry mess. I keep seeing numbers like 50mm and 85mm and 105mm and I have no idea which one to pick for a D850 or if they even fit? Sorry if this is a really stupid question but I'm just a total beginner and I really dont want to ruin her big day. Which prime lens should I actually get for portraits on this camera?

So I finally made the jump from my old D850 to the Z8 a few months ago and while the autofocus is like black magic compared to the old DSLR days, I'm hitting a wall with my glass. I've been using the FTZ adapter with my old 24-70mm G lens and honestly its just bulky and balances weird on the new body. I'm planning this big two-week trip to Kyoto and Tokyo in November and I really don't want to be lugging around a bag full of primes or heavy F-mount zooms like I used to. I want to keep it simple but the quality has to stay high because I'm planning on doing some large prints when I get back.

I was looking at the 24-120mm f4 S because everyone raves about the sharpness but then I see the 24-70mm f2.8 and think maybe I'll miss that extra stop for those dim shrines and narrow alleys at night. Budget isn't a huge deal but I’d like to stay under $2k if possible. Is the 24-120 really enough of a do-it-all lens or am I gonna regret not having f2.8 for the subject separation? What is the best all-around lens for these Z bodies for someone who wants to leave the bag at the hotel and just walk around all day?

Ive been looking at the Sigma 35mm Art because everyone raves about the sharpness but it looks massive to carry around all day. Then I saw the Nikon 85mm 1.8G which is way cheaper but Im worried it might be too zoomed in for the venue.
