im honestly just so fed up with my old 55-200mm kit lens it literally wont focus on anything that moves even slightly. I missed every single shot of my nephews soccer game yesterday and im actually getting really anxious because im supposed to go to yellowstone next month and I cant have all my wildlife photos come out blurry. it feels like im fighting the gear more than actually taking pictures at this point and it is so stressful.
I need an alternative that actually works but I really cant spend more than $250 or maybe $300 if it's really worth it. does anyone have a recommendation for a reliable budget telephoto lens for a nikon dx camera that wont let me down?
over the years i have tried many lenses and Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR is the only reliable budget upgrade. it focuses way faster than the kit lens. essential for soccer. just make sure your camera body is compatible with af-p first... i dont want you buying something that wont work. it is a safe bet for under 300 bucks.
