I want that blurry background look but all the lenses I see online are like 600 dollars or more which is way over my 400 dollar budget for my trip to Florida next week. I dont really get how the math works with the mm numbers and I feel kind of dumb asking but are there like discount codes people use? I checked some sites but everything is full price and I really need to save some cash. Does anyone know where to find promo codes or coupons for these things?

I am honestly so fed up with my current lens situation right now. I went out to the coast last weekend thinking I’d get some great shots with my A7IV but I spent more time fiddling with my gear than actually looking through the viewfinder. I’ve been trying to make the whole prime lens only lifestyle work because everyone says the quality is better but god it is such a massive pain in the neck. Literally. My neck is killing me from the weight of carrying a bag with three different lenses and swapping them out every time the light changes or I see something slightly further away is driving me crazy. I missed this incredible shot of a heron taking off because I had my 35mm on and by the time I grabbed the longer lens and got it mounted the bird was a mile away. I just sat there feeling so defeated.

I have a huge trip to Italy coming up in exactly twenty days and there is absolutely no way I am doing this over there. I’m going to be walking miles every day through Venice and Rome and I just want one lens that can do it all so I can actually enjoy the vacation with my wife instead of making her wait while I change equipment. I need something versatile that covers the wide end but has enough reach so I dont have to crop everything. I was looking at the Sony 24-105mm G but I’ve heard people say it’s getting a bit old and maybe the aperture isnt fast enough for low light stuff inside the cathedrals or at dinner? Then there’s the Tamron 28-200 which people rave about for travel but I’m worried I’ll lose too much sharpness compared to what I am used to.

My budget is topped out at about $1,400 since the trip itself is costing a fortune. I just want one goldilocks lens that stays on the body for 95% of the time and doesnt weigh five pounds. What is the absolute best all-around lens for a Sony full-frame setup that wont make me want to leave my camera in the hotel room?

I am honestly so over looking at lens charts and YouTube reviews for my D850. This sensor is so picky and it is driving me crazy because every flaw shows up. I have a wedding gig in Chicago in three weeks and I desperately need a solid 35mm but I am totally stuck. It is basically the Nikon 35mm 1.4G vs the Sigma Art version. I am leaning toward the Sigma because its way cheaper and my budget is strictly $1k max but everyone says the AF is a total nightmare on these high res bodies. Is the Nikon actually worth the extra $400 for a used copy or am I just overthinking the Sigma focus issues?

Im honestly so torn right now because I have a wedding to help shoot in Montana next Thursday and I dont have a solid general purpose zoom yet. I read the RF 24-105mm f/4L is the go-to but then I see people saying the 24-70mm 2.8 is way better for the dancing and low light stuff and now im just stressed. I cant afford the 2.8 and the f/4 seems okay but will it be too slow for indoors? My budget is capped at $1100-ish and I need to pull the trigger tonight or tomorrow.

Everyone online says the 35mm f/1.8 is the absolute gold standard for a first prime but then I keep seeing people obsessing over the 55mm Zeiss saying it has better colors or whatever. My budget is capped at $600 so I'm stuck between them and honestly I'm just confused if the 55mm is even worth it in 2024 since its such an old design. I mainly do street photography and some occasional portraits of my wife. If you could only bring one must-have prime lens for a whole trip which one is actually the winner?

I keep seeing people recommend the nifty fifty 50mm f1.8 because its cheap and sharp but then others say on a crop sensor like mine its way too zoomed in for indoor shots and I should get the 35mm f2 instead. My budget is around 500 bucks so the 35mm is pushing it and I dont even know if the image quality is that much better on a 90D to justify the jump in price.
