No Fujifilm XF 300mm F4 and 500mm F5.6 Lens to be Announced in 2021

In March 2020, Fujifilm filed two new lens patents for APS-C cameras: Fujifilm XF 300mm F4 and 500mm F5.6 Lens. However, according to the latest rumors from Fujirumors, they will not be officially announced in 2021.

Some people think these lenses will appear at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, but these lenses will not appear. It’s unclear at this point if it’s 2022, 2023, or not. There is a long way from filing a patent to the final product, and in many cases the patent is not the final product.

We hope these lenses will be available. Possibly, Sigma will release such a lens? Since the only super-telephoto single focus lens on the X mount is Fujifilm XF 200mm F2 R LM OIS WR lens (  AmazonB&HAdorama), it is expected that this category will be expanded, but it seems that we cannot expect the appearance of 300mm and 500mm in the near future.
