What's the absolute best all-around lens for a Canon 90D if I can only bring one? I'm heading out to the PNW in like three weeks for a big hiking trip and I'm honestly panicking a bit about my gear because I dont want to be swapping lenses in the rain or getting dust everywhere. My budget is probably around 700 bucks maybe 800 if I stretch it but I've been reading so many conflicting things online and its driving me crazy. I saw a lot of people swearing by the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 but then other people say the zoom range is way too short for a general walkaround lens and it's super heavy for long hikes. Then I looked at the Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 which seems better for range but its such an old lens and I heard the 90Ds sensor is really picky with older glass because of the high megapixel count. I just want something sharp that can handle wide landscapes but also some closer shots of the kids without looking soft or muddy. Is there something better I'm missing or should I just pick one and hope for the best? Its so much money to drop and I'm worried I'm gonna regret it once I'm actually out there on the trails...
