so i just bought the canon r50 and im totally lost. i really want to take photos of tiny insects and flowers in my garden but every time i try with the lens that came with it they are just blurry and gross. someone said i need a macro lens but i dont even know what that means really or how much they cost. i only have about 300-400 dollars to spend and i dont want to buy the wrong thing and break the camera. is there a specific one that just clicks on easily without needing extra parts? i feel so dumb asking but i dont know where to start...

dont feel dumb at all, macro is a blast once you get the right gear. ive been shooting for years and im super satisfied with the Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro STM. it works well on the r50 and clicks right on without needing extra parts. it stays right in your budget and makes those garden shots look sharp. worth every penny.

Late to the party but just stick with a Canon macro. you gotta be careful with lighting when youre that close tho... how tiny are these insects anyway?
