i am so lost right now looking at all these websites it is seriously overwhelming. my cousin is getting married in like two weeks and she asked me to take some photos because she knows i like taking pictures on my phone but i really want to get a real camera so they look professional. i heard canon is the way to go but there are so many numbers like 90d and rebel t7 and i dont even know what they mean.
my budget is pretty tight like maybe $400 or $500 at the absolute most because i still need to buy food and rent lol. i looked at best buy and amazon but they seem kinda expensive for a beginner like me. i live in a small town so there arent any cool local shops around here just a walmart that barely has anything.
is there a secret place people go to get deals on these? like maybe refurbished or older models that still work good? i dont want to accidentally buy a broken one on ebay or something because i wouldnt even know how to fix it. i just want something that takes clear pictures without me having to be a scientist to figure it out. where can i find the best discounts on canon dslr bodies today that wont break my bank account... maybe there is a sale i missed?
dude you are gonna have a blast! shooting a wedding is stressful but so rewarding. since you want that professional look without spending thousands you should totally check out Adoramas used section... they are legit legends in the photo world. look for a Canon EOS 80D Body 24.2MP Digital SLR. its seriously such a workhorse and feels way more pro in your hands than the plastic rebel series. the autofocus is snappy which you definitely need when people are moving around at a wedding. i have used one for years and it never lets me down! if that feels too big maybe try to find a Canon EOS Rebel T7i EF-S 18-55mm IS STM Kit. ngl the t7i is miles better than the regular t7 because it has a much better focus system and that flip-out screen is amazing for getting shots over peoples heads! TL;DR: buy a used 80D or T7i from Adorama or B&H Photo. they give you a 90-day warranty so you wont get stuck with a brick like on ebay. good luck with the wedding!
Unfortunately, current retail prices are disappointing. Stick to Canons refurbished inventory for better value:
Honestly, buying brand new right now is a total letdown. Prices are ridiculous and you get way less for your money than you used to. Tbh just go to a dedicated used site like KEH Camera or MPB and grab whatever Canon EOS DSLR body they have in your price range. They actually inspect their gear so its way safer than rolling the dice on eBay. Just stick to the used market and youll be fine.
