For budget lens, get the RF 50mm f/1.8 STM, for high quality prime, get the RF 50mm f/1.2L.

Waiting for upcoming RF 50mm f/1.4L IS VCM Lens.

  • Yeah I definitely agree with those points. It usually depends on your needs but I think going for the more expensive build is a decent option if you want something that works every time. The reliability is worth the extra weight tbh. 2. I dont always treat my gear with the most care so I need that solid build quality. Last time I went out for a shoot, I actually forgot my tripod plate and had to balance everything on a flat rock. It worked okay until I saw a turtle sunning itself nearby and got distracted trying to see how close I could get. Turns out turtles are way faster than people think when they want to be. I spent like twenty minutes following it into the weeds and totally missed the sunset shot I was there for. My boots were soaked for the whole drive home because I stepped right into a hidden puddle. Honestly I dont even think I got a single good photo that day. anyway lol sorry kinda went off topic there

The RF 50mm f/1.2L USM lens is the best choice.
