What's the best all-around lens that won't bottleneck the R5ii sensor?

Ive been shooting Canon for years but my old EF glass-well, the 24-70 specifically-looks soft on this body and its driving me crazy. I have 2500 bucks for an Iceland trip next week. Is the RF 24-70 f2.8 the only real option?

Over the years, the Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM has been my only reliable workhorse.

  • bulletproof build
  • crazy sharp Ive seen other glass fail, so dont risk it.

TL;DR: Grab the Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM and dont look back! Been thinking about this and honestly, if youre doing Iceland, you need that f2.8 for the moody lighting. The weather sealing is a total lifesaver too! Check the Canon refurbished site to save some cash for the trip. I’ve taken mine through some wild rain and it just keeps ticking... its fantastic.

ngl, using old EF glass on the R5ii is just asking for heartbreak... I had the same issue and it was super disappointing. Honestly, you dont need to blow your whole $2500 budget on that f2.8.
