What is your budget, for a cheaper and light weight wide-angle lens, get the RF 14-35mm f/4L IS USM.

Some best wide-angle zoom lenses for Canon RF are:

  1. Canon RF 10-20mm f/4L IS STM:

    • This lens is the world’s widest full-frame rectilinear lens with autofocus.
    • It offers an amazing wide field of view, making it perfect for landscape and architecture photography.
    • Lightweight and compact design.
    • Effective stabilization system to minimize camera shake.
    • Limited filter compatibility with only rear gelatin filters supported.
  2. Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8L IS USM:

    • A pro-grade ultra-wide zoom lens with premium image quality and handling.
    • Weather-sealed construction and a constant f/2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range.
    • Nano USM autofocus system for fast, quiet, and accurate focusing.
    • Customizable control ring and compatibility with 82mm filters or filter holders.
    • Ideal for both stills and video shooting, but it’s heavier and comes with a higher price tag.
  3. Canon RF 14-35mm f/4L IS USM:

    • Versatile and highly capable wide-angle zoom lens.
    • Excellent image quality and performance.
    • Highly effective stabilization system (up to 5.5 stops of compensation).
    • Close focusing distance of just 0.20m for capturing close-up details and textures.

Saw this thread earlier but just now getting a chance to reply. Honestly, Ive been shooting wide for over a decade and the jump to the RF system was a bitter pill to swallow. Im really happy with how my shots look now, dont get me wrong, the reliability is there... but the price hiking is just ridiculous. Its like Canon realized they could just charge whatever they want because we're already committed to the mount.

  • the insane markup compared to the EF days
  • no more third party competition to keep prices low
  • boxes getting smaller while prices go up Drives me crazy that we have to pay a premium just to get a lens that doesnt feel like a toy. I love my current setup and it hasn't failed me on a single hike yet, but the entry fee for quality wide glass nowadays is basically a scam. I was looking at my receipts earlier and just shaking my head... its a love-hate relationship for sure.
