Honestly I am so fed up with the price of glass for the R system right now. I finally upgraded to the R6 after saving for a year but it literally wiped out my bank account and now I am stuck looking at these L series lenses that cost more than my car. I tried using my old EF 50mm with the adapter but the balance is just totally off and it feels so front heavy and slow to focus it is driving me crazy. I spent all this money on a fast body and the glass is just bottlenecking the whole experience.
I have a family trip coming up to Seattle next month and I really want something native that doesnt feel like a brick but I cannot spend more than $350 or $400 max. Every time I look at reviews it is always this 2000 dollar lens is great well no duh but what about those of us who are broke after buying the camera? Im looking for something sharp enough for street stuff and maybe some low light but honestly I just need something that actually works well with the R6 autofocus without breaking the bank. Are the cheap RF primes even worth it or am I gonna regret not saving up for another year? What is the absolute best budget lens you guys have actually used on an R6 that doesnt feel like a toy...
You might want to consider the Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM. Be careful since it feels kinda plastic tho.
