What is the best lens to buy if I can only afford one for my Canon EOS R6? I feel so stupid because I bought the camera body but I didnt realize there were so many different lenses and now I have no way to take pictures.

I am going to my sisters wedding in Italy next month and I need to figure this out fast. Everything has too many numbers like f4 and 24-105 and I dont know what those mean. I just want one thing that can do portraits and some buildings too. My budget is like $800 max because the camera cost so much and I am honestly panicking about what to get...
