Heading to Italy next month and finally upgraded to the R6 but I only have the budget for one good lens right now, maybe $1300 max. Spent hours reading reviews and everyone keeps pointing at the RF 24-105mm f4L but then I see others saying the f2.8 on the 24-70mm is essential for indoor shots like in old churches. Im gonna be doing a lot of walking so weight matters but I dont want to regret not having that extra light. Also saw the non-L 24-105 is way cheaper but is the quality actually bad? Just looking for that one perfect all-arounder for travel. What would you pick?

Used the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM last trip. it works. R6 high ISO handles churches fine tho. Decent option to save weight and cash.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I agree the cheaper zoom works fine, no complaints here. TL;DR: Grab the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM plus a Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM.

Seriously, just get the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM! Its honestly incredible for travel and the range is just perfect for those narrow Italian streets. Youll love it!
