Does anyone know where to find a deal on the Canon EOS R6 right now?? I'm so stoked to finally buy a real camera but I honestly have no idea where to look. I need it by next month for my sisters wedding in NYC and my budget is like $1600 tops. Sorry if this is a dumb question...

Regarding what #1 said about "Honestly you can totally find an Canon EOS..." it is definitely doable. In my experience, used gear is the secret to staying under budget.

Honestly you can totally find an Canon EOS R6 Mirrorless Camera 20.1MP 4K for under 1600 if you know where to look. I picked mine up refurbished directly from the Canon USA online store a few months back and i have zero complaints. It literally looked brand new when it arrived and it works perfectly for every shoot I have done since. Refurbished is basically the secret way to save a ton of cash without the risk of buying from some random person on marketplace. If they are out of stock there, definitely check out a site like MPB for a used Canon EOS R6 Full-Frame Mirrorless Body. I use them all the time and they give you a six-month warranty which is nice for peace of mind. Youll easily stay under budget and maybe have enough left over for a cheap lens or a couple fast cards for that wedding... just keep an eye on the listings daily tho.

Buying used can be scary so I prioritized reliability. I looked for a seller that provided a detailed inspection report. It was a fantastic decision! My current setup came with a 90-day warranty which gave me so much confidence. Definitely check the return window before you buy anything for that wedding. Safety first!

Late to the party but this whole thread is 💯. Glad I found it.

Regarding what #3 said about "Buying used can be scary so I prioritized..." I totally agree on the reliability front. For a wedding, you really need that peace of mind. I actually went through a massive research phase last year when I was choosing my kit for a big event. I was weighing the Canon EOS R6 Mirrorless Camera against the Canon EOS R8 Mirrorless Body and even the Canon EOS R7 32.5MP APS-C. The R8 has the newer sensor but that single card slot is a huge gamble for a one-time event like a wedding. Then the R7 is fast but the low light performance on the R6 full-frame sensor just kills it for indoor receptions. I ended up finding a deal on a used R6 and I've been so happy with how it handles. The IBIS is incredible for those slow shutter speeds when the lights get low. I also grabbed the Canon Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R instead of the basic one because having that extra dial for ISO is a lifesaver. Never had a single issue with it overheating or glitching during long shoots tho, so the reliability is definitely there.
