Ive been a Fuji shooter for years but just moved over to the X-Pro3 and I didnt realize how much my zoom would block the OVF. its basically unusable right now.
i have a street photography trip to Tokyo next month and about 600 to spend. Which prime wont block my frame lines?
> Which prime wont block my frame lines? I went through this same struggle and landed on the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary. Its a decent option for street since the OVF blockage is pretty minimal. I used it for a week in Tokyo and the autofocus reliability felt much safer than messing with manual rings in busy crowds. Tbh, it depends on your needs, but it works well for the price.
Unfortunately the OVF magnification on the X-Pro3 is pretty disappointing for larger glass. Do you require autofocus for Tokyo? If not, look at the Voigtlander Ultron 27mm f/2.0 X-Mount.
- Go with any manual glass from TTArtisan, you cant go wrong!
- They are amazing for street because they are tiny.
- Fantastic build quality and wont block the OVF. Love it!
Unfortunately, the OVF is not as good as expected if you're stuck with zooms. I had issues with my kit lens blocking half the window, which is super frustrating. Just grab the Fujifilm Fujinon XF 23mm f/2 R WR. It's small and wont get in your way. The f/2 series is basically made for that body... you'll love it in Tokyo.
