Looking for a portrait lens for Fujifilm X-S20, Any suggestions ?

For portrait photography with the Fujifilm X-S20, the XF 56mm f/1.2 R lens is an excellent choice. Its wide f/1.2 aperture allows for beautiful background separation and bokeh, while the focal length provides a comfortable working distance for portraits. The lens is tack sharp and delivers outstanding image quality.

ugh im in the exact same boat as you right now. ive been tinkering with a bunch of vintage m42 adapters and some old diy lens mods trying to get that perfect portrait look on my x-s20 but nothing is hitting the mark correctly. ive spent way too many hours digging through technical white papers and mtf charts just to be more confused than when i started... been dealing with this for over a month now and its driving me crazy that i cant just find the right glass for my setup. honestly just want some clarity on the actual edge-to-edge sharpness data before i lose my mind lol.

I also recommended the XF 56mm f/1.2 R lens, it works great on my X-T3.

Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN C is a cheap and good portrait lens for X-S20.

^ This. Also, I've been really happy with how well the X-S20 handles third-party glass compared to the older bodies. Honestly, the Sigma and Viltrox options have gotten so good that the gap between them and the native Fuji stuff dont really matter for most people now. The face tracking works so well even on the cheaper brands, tho the build quality on the high-end Fuji glass is still top tier... Before you pull the trigger on anything tho, whats your priority? Like, are you looking for something lightweight and portable for street portraits, or do you need a heavy-duty pro lens with an aperture ring? Also, whats the budget looking like? That'll really help narrow down the brand comparison for ya.
