Honestly, im just so fed up with my current zoom setup. I took my SL2 out for a street photography trip in downtown Chicago last weekend and the weight is just killing my back after a few hours. Plus, the constant fiddling with the aperture ring and the inconsistent sharpness at the edges is driving me crazy. I dont know, maybe I got a bad copy or im just expecting too much, but I feel like im losing the magic of the sensor with this glass. I need something faster and way more compact before my trip to Europe in August. My budget is around 3k, so I cant exactly drop a fortune on a new Summilux right now, but I need something that actually performs. Are there any prime recommendations that dont weigh a ton but still keep that leica look? Should I look into the Sigma DG DN series or is it worth trying to hunt down a used APO lens instead? Im really at my wits end here with this gear and just want something that feels right again...
If you want that Leica look, grab a Leica Summicron-SL 35mm f/2 ASPH. It is lighter than those Sigmas and way sharper. Just be careful buying used copies.

Also, if you really want that crisp look without the weight, look into the Sigma 45mm F2.8 DG DN Contemporary. It is tiny and super sharp for street shots. Just make sure to check the AF speed settings in your menu since it can hunt a bit if you aren't careful.
I had a similar realization after lugging a heavy kit around Tokyo last year. My back was wrecked and I realized I was just missing shots while trying to manage the bulk. Its really about the balance between the body and the glass.
