i finally pulled the trigger on the s5ii and man the colors are incredible but i am honestly so fed up with my adapted ef lenses right now. the autofocus keeps hunting even in good light and its driving me crazy because i have a wedding shoot coming up in seattle in three weeks and i cant be missing focus like this. i need something native that just works every single time. i have about 1200 bucks to spend and i just want one lens that can handle portraits and some wider shots without me having to swap constantly. what is the absolute best all-around zoom lens for the s5ii that wont let me down?
To add to the point above: I actually saved some serious cash and my back by picking up the Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary! I used it for a long event recently and the autofocus was absolutely flawless on my s5ii. Its way lighter than the Art version which is a total lifesaver for weddings. Definitely worth a look if you want extra money for lights!
Ngl just grab the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art for L-Mount! Its amazing for low light weddings and the AF is super snappy. Fits your budget perfectly.
Same here!
Native glass is definitely the right call for weddings. You might want to consider your lighting needs tho... are you looking for a constant f/2.8 or do you prefer more reach?
