Im looking for a cheap lens for my D3500. I saw the 35mm f/1.8 is popular but Im worried its too tight for indoor family shots. I only have about 200 bucks right now. Needs to be decent in low light since my kid is always moving. Any ideas?

Honestly, grab the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G! It is amazing for low light, super sharp, and totally fits your budget. You will love the bokeh for family shots!

Been thinking about your setup. Honestly, the 35mm felt way too tight for my living room too. If you need wider shots, look into these:

Re: "Been thinking about your setup. Honestly, the 35mm..." - man, I feel your pain. I have been fighting with the exact same issue for like six months now and honestly havent found a solid solution either. My living room is just too cramped for that prime lens and I still cant figure out the best balance for shots of my kid. It is super frustrating honestly, just glad to know Im not alone here.
