honestly it drives me crazy how much we're expected to shell out for gear that doesnt feel like it'll survive a year on a real set. the whole Z9 ecosystem is impressive but its such a scam how prices keep climbing while build quality seems to be going downhill. unfortunately, some of the newer 'pro' glass just isn't as good as expected... had issues with weather sealing on a couple units and its just disappointing for the money.

• lens prices are basically predatory at this point
• build materials feel way more fragile than the old f-mount tanks
• qc is a total nightmare if you're a professional who needs reliability checking out the LensRentals blog or the deep-dive forums on DPReview is a good move for actual reliability stats. they're way more honest than most reviewers who just want to keep their brand deals. i'm here if you need help navigating the nonsense tho, it's a mess out there.
