@Reply #1 - good point! That Sony lens is a classic for a reason. If you want something tiny for street work, you gotta check out the Sigma 19mm f/2.8 DN Art. You can grab it used for way under 200 bucks. It is super sharp and tiny, basically turns the a6000 into a pocket camera. I used mine for years and loved the 28mm-ish field of view. Definitely worth the cash imo.

If you want pure value, check out the TTArtisan 35mm f/1.4 APS-C Manual Focus. It is fully manual, but the build quality is solid and the sharpness is honestly surprising for the price.

• Fast aperture for low light Honestly, if you dont mind manual focus, you can save a ton of cash here. Definitely worth considering if you want to keep your spending way under budget.

Saw this earlier but just now responding. Everyone is pushing those older lenses, but honestly, you should look into the Tamron 20mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M1:2. It is a fixed prime that usually goes for dirt cheap used, and the optics are surprisingly sharp across the frame compared to those older Sigma Art models. Here is why it works for your a6000:

• The 1:2 magnification ratio is killer for getting close-up shots of weird street details.
• Weather sealing is a huge plus, which most budget glass completely lacks.
• AF performance is consistent and much snappier than the older Viltrox glass people were complaining about. Like someone mentioned, sticking to a budget is tough, but you dont want to waste 200 bucks on something soft that you'll just end up replacing in six months. Save a little extra if you can and grab the Tamron. It is just more reliable long-term.

Honestly, skip the soft lenses! I used the Sony E 35mm f/1.8 OSS for years on my a6000 and it was amazing. You can find them used for around 250 bucks if you look hard enough. The image stabilization saved me so many times in low light! It is super sharp and tiny, basically perfect for just tossing in a bag and hitting the streets. Seriously, such a fantastic little lens.
