I recently got the new Sony a7 IV mirrorless camera and I'm looking to add a high-quality wide-angle lens to my kit. I want something sharp with minimal distortion for landscape and architecture photography. What are some of the top wide-angle lenses you would recommend for the a7 IV? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
For over $2,000, you have to go with Sony 12-24mm f/2.8 GM lens. It's simply an outstanding ultra-wide zoom with impeccable build quality and optics. Tack sharp across the frame, even on the high-res a7R IV sensor. Superbly controlled distortion for a 12mm lens. The f/2.8 aperture is great for low light too.
The new released Sony FE 16-35mm f2.8 GM II lens is also a great wide- angle lens for Sony a7IV
For Sony A7 IV, a great choice for a prime wide-angle lens is Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 GM. This lens is known for its exceptional sharpness, beautiful bokeh, and excellent low-light performance, making it ideal for landscape, astrophotography, and street photography. As for a zoom lens, Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM is an excellent option. It offers versatility with its zoom range while maintaining a constant f/2.8 aperture, which is great for low-light situations and for achieving a shallow depth of field.
I use Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD and absolutely love it for the price of less than $800. Great for landscape and architecture with minimal distortion. Not quite as wide as a 14mm but more affordable than the Sony G and Sigma Art options. Easy to pack and trek with too.

Works great for me
Finally someone says it. Ive been thinking this for a while but wasnt sure.
If you want to save some money, consider the Rokinon/Samyang 18mm f/2.8 FE lens. It's a fantastic value prime lens at just $350-400 USD. Very sharp in the center wide open and across the frame by f/5.6-8. Excellent for landscapes and real-estate interiors. The trade-off is it's manual focus only.
Two of the best wide-angle lenses you can consider for your Sony A7 IV:
Both the lenses are excellent choices depending on your specific needs and budget.

Yes, I also love this lens, though it is a bit heavy and expensive.
