Seriously whats the best all-around lens for a Sony A7III because im about to lose my mind. Im currently in New Mexico for a two-week road trip and honestly im just fed up with swapping glass every five minutes. Every time I see a cool landscape I have my 85mm on then by the time I get my wide angle out the light has shifted or I've missed the bird or whatever. Its so frustrating and I'm getting dust on my sensor constantly from being out here in the desert. I need something that can just stay on the camera 90% of the time.

Im looking for that one holy grail lens that doesnt weigh a ton but still gives me sharp shots. I have about $1400 to spend and I need to order it like yesterday so it can get to my next stop in Arizona by Friday. Is the Tamron 28-200 actually good or am I gonna regret the variable aperture? Or should I just suck it up and get the Sony 24-105 f4 even though it's older? I mostly do travel stuff and some street photography but honestly I just want to stop carrying a giant bag of gear and just enjoy the trip for once. My back is killing me and im tired of missing the moment every single time I reach for my bag...

Regarding what #1 said about a high-ratio zoom being the standard... I absolutely love these two for Sony shooters! They are both fantastic choices:

Re: "Regarding what #1 said about a high-ratio zoom..." unfortunately those often lack sharpness. I suggest the Sigma 28-70mm f2.8 DG DN Contemporary instead. Its significantly lighter and provides better value.

A high-ratio zoom is basically the standard solution to avoid sensor contamination. I spent weeks in Utah fighting dust on my A7III. It sucks. Honestly, the internal seals are barely enough for those desert winds tho. Before you buy, are you planning on doing much low light shooting or is this strictly a daytime thing? Also, check your focal length distribution... you dont want to lose that 24mm wide end if you use it for every landscape.
