Im seriously about to throw my kit lens out the window. Spent the whole day shooting my sisters wedding and half the shots came out soft or just totally missed focus because the aperture is basically useless in the dimmer reception area. Im honestly so fed up with dragging around gear that cant keep up with my Canon R6. I have about 1200 bucks saved up and need something versatile enough for street photography and portraits since I travel a lot. Does anyone have a recommendation for an all-around lens that actually works well with this body because im losing my mind here...
Honestly, ditching the kit lens is the best move you can make for that body. I felt the exact same way before switching to the Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8 L IS USM which has been my go-to for years now. It is definitely an investment, but the reliability is unmatched when you are shooting events in low light.

Regarding what #1 said, the L lens is great but maybe overkill. Are you strictly needing a zoom? Check out the Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM for a start.
Re: Regarding what #1 said, the L lens is a massive commitment. I bought a Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM when I first got my R6 and honestly, I should have been more careful with my budget. It is versatile but I really struggled in those dark reception halls. You might want to consider the Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM for low light safety, it is cheap and sharp, so you wont go broke.
