Which one is actually the sharpest for my Canon R, the RF 85mm f1.2L or that massive Sigma 105mm f1.4 Art? Im doing a big series of executive headshots for a firm in Chicago next month and really need that tack-sharp detail. I have about $2,500 to spend and the Canon is definitely pushing it but I could swing it if the autofocus is way better. The Sigma is legendary but I worry about the weight during an 8 hour shoot.

- Sigma 105mm f1.4 Art (with the adapter)
Im leaning toward the Canon just because its native but that 105mm look is so unique... which would you pick for pure sharpness?
Honestly, if youre doing a full day of headshots in a place like Chicago, your back is gonna hate you if you go with that Sigma. I spent years lugging around heavy glass for corporate gigs and eventually learned that comfort is king. Between the two, the Canon RF 85mm f1.2L USM is the clear winner for me. It is stupidly sharp right from f1.2 and the eye-autofocus on the R system just nails it every single time without hunting... really makes the workflow feel effortless. The Sigma 105mm f1.4 DG HSM Art is a beast and the rendering is gorgeous, but using it with the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R makes it even longer and more front-heavy. For a marathon 8-hour session, that native Canon lens is gonna save your wrists. Quick tip: stop down to f2.5 for headshots to keep the whole face in focus. Also, bring a stool for subjects to keep them from swaying.
