Where can I find the best discounts on used Fujifilm bodies?

Im finally ditching my DSLR for Fuji but prices are wild. Torn between a used X-T3 for the dials or an X-S10 for the grip, but my budget is strictly under $700 since I still need a lens.

Im in Chicago and local shops are dry, so KEH seems kinda pricey... where else is actually reliable for deals?

Saw this earlier but just getting around to it now. KEH is decent but you're paying a huge markup for their peace of mind. In my experience, if you're trying to stay under that $700 mark for a Fujifilm X-T3 26.1MP Mirrorless Digital Camera, you've gotta hit the enthusiast forums. I've tried many different marketplaces over the years and these three are my go-tos for Fuji gear:

  • MPB: They are usually cheaper than KEH and actually show you photos of the specific unit you're buying.
  • Fred Miranda: The Buy and Sell board there is legendary. You'll find pro-owned gear that's been babied, usually without the tax and high shipping fees.
  • r/photomarket on Reddit: Use PayPal Goods and Services only, but you can find some absolute steals here from people just looking for a quick sale. Basically, the Fujifilm X-S10 26.1MP Mirrorless Body is harder to find under $700 because the vlogging crowd keeps the demand high for that IBIS. A well-used Fujifilm X-T3 Black 26.1MP Body should definitely fit your budget tho. Tbh, the build quality on the X-T3 is way better... magnesium alloy vs the more plasticky feel of the X-S series. If you get the X-T3 and hate the grip, just buy a cheap third-party handgrip later. Much better to have those physical dials anyway if you're coming from a DSLR... feels more like a real tool and less like a gadget.

Totally agree about KEH being overpriced lately. I've tried many outlets over the years and MPB usually has better pricing for used Fuji gear.

Just saw this thread and honestly, you should check out Used Photo Pro. It's basically the used department for Roberts Camera and they're way more reasonable than the big guys. I've grabbed a Fujifilm X-T3 Body Black there for way under retail and the condition was better than described. Another sleeper hit is the B&H used section... they update it constantly and sometimes stuff is priced to move fast. If you're okay with shipping from overseas, Map Camera on eBay is legendary for their quality. You can snag a Fujifilm X-S10 Body Only in great shape and it'll arrive in like three days. If you go the eBay route, just make sure the seller has 99% feedback and you're golden. TL;DR: Used Photo Pro and Map Camera on eBay are the best bets for staying under that $700 limit.

Been thinking about your budget and honestly, you gotta be really careful with some of these marketplaces. If you want reliability without a massive markup, I'd suggest checking out Adorama's used department. They aren't mentioned as much as others but their rating system is actually pretty conservative. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Only buy from sellers with a high rating if you're on eBay, and look for their Refurbished program since it usually comes with a warranty.
  • If you go with the Fujifilm X-T3 26.1MP Digital Camera, make sure to check the shutter count. Those things are workhorses but can have high mileage.
  • The Fujifilm X-S10 Mirrorless Digital Camera has IBIS which is great, but the build feels a bit flimsier than the weather-sealed T3. I would stay away from Mercari or random Facebook shipping deals. Too many people trying to offload gear with sensor dust or sticky buttons. Better to spend an extra fifty bucks for a return policy than lose seven hundred on a brick. Just make sure you get a photo of the sensor before you commit to anything.
