Just picked up an R6 Mark II and I am super stressed about which glass to get for portraits. I really need something sharp but my budget is hovering around 800-1000 bucks. I have been looking at the RF 85mm f/2 Macro and the older EF 85mm f/1.8 with the adapter, or maybe even saving a bit more for a Sigma Art if I can find one used. I have a wedding shoot coming up in three weeks so I need to decide fast before I panic buy the wrong thing. Is the native RF lens actually worth the extra cash for the AF performance, or should I stick to the EF glass for now...?
Congrats on the new body! Honestly, skip the old EF glass if you can. The AF speed on the native RF lens is a game changer for weddings. You definitely want that reliability.

- Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art is a beast but usually heavy. Grab the RF native option and dont look back. You'll love the eye AF tracking!
Saw this earlier but honestly, if you have a wedding in three weeks, dont mess around with adapters. You really need native glass for that reliability. I would suggest looking at the Canon RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM because it hits that price point perfectly.
