which prime lens is actually the best for taking portrait photos on my new Canon EOS R8? sorry if this is a totally stupid question but I just got this camera and I have literally no idea where to start with all these different numbers on the lenses. Ive been looking at websites but it just makes my head spin and I dont want to buy the wrong thing.

I need to take pictures of my sisters engagement party next month and I'm honestly panicking because I want them to look professional but I only have like $500 max to spend. I heard prime lenses are better but which one makes the background all blurry like you see in fancy photos? is there a specific one for this camera?

I totally get that panic. When I shot my first big event, I used a basic zoom and honestly hated how messy the backgrounds were. Switching to the prime lens I use now really changed the game for me tho.

  • be careful with your focus
  • make sure to check your lighting
  • I would suggest a fast prime Dont worry, youll do great. Let me know if you need more help!
