sorry if this is a dumb question but are there actually any good mirrorless camera deals right now? im totally out of my depth here lol. ive been using my phone forever for vacation photos and stuff, but im going on a big trip to japan in october and figured its finally time to buy a real camera. i dont know anything about sensors or lenses or brands, my budget is around 600 to 800 bucks max, and honestly i just want something that makes the food and street lights look cool without me having to learn a whole college course on photography. ive been looking at amazon and best buy but everything just looks the same to me and my head is spinning trying to compare them all. is it better to buy a used one or wait for a holiday sale or what? what would you actually buy if you were me...
Not a dumb question at all, jumping into real cameras is super overwhelming. I was in the exact same spot before my first big trip abroad and almost gave up. Honestly, buying used from a reputable shop gave me major peace of mind because I saved cash without getting scoured on sketchy marketplace listings.
- Look for a Sony Alpha a6100 24.2MP Mirrorless Camera bundle if you can find one in your budget.
- Stick with a basic kit lens starting out so you dont get overwhelmed. My setup has worked well with zero complaints for two years now. Just grab something simple and practice before October!
