Are there actually any decent mirrorless camera deals going on right now or is everything just back to full price? Im getting so frustrated trying to track this down for my trip to Japan in three weeks. My budget is around 1200 bucks. I saw some stuff about the Sony a6400 being on sale at Best Buy but then I read a thread saying it might be outdated compared to the newer stuff coming out, and honestly, the camera market is just super confusing right now. Im looking for something compact for travel, but all these "deals" seem like scams or refurbished units that arent really cheaper. Has anyone seen an actual legit discount?
Honestly, the a6400 is still a beast for travel. Sure, it lacks IBIS, but the autofocus is top-tier and the sensor holds up fine for 24MP stills. If you want something newer without breaking the bank, check these out:
- Sony a6400 24.2MP APS-C Mirrorless - solid value, honestly hard to beat for the price.
- Fujifilm X-S10 26.1MP APS-C Mirrorless - includes IBIS and those film simulations are super fun for travel pics.
- Canon EOS R50 24.2MP APS-C Mirrorless - very lightweight and the interface is super easy to use. I personally use the Sony system and have no complaints about the image quality. If you can find a kit deal under 1200, grab it. Dont worry too much about the tech being outdated, lenses make a bigger difference anyway.
Honestly, 1200 bucks is the sweet spot for travel gear if you know where to look. I took my Fujifilm X-T30 II 26.1MP APS-C Mirrorless to Japan last summer and honestly, it was the best decision ever. The colors straight out of camera saved me so much time editing. If you want to save some cash but still get great performance, check out these two:
- Fujifilm X-T30 II 26.1MP APS-C Mirrorless - best for street photography and the build quality feels premium.
- Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV 20.3MP Micro Four Thirds - basically the king of travel because the lenses are tiny. Don't get hung up on the new releases. Most people cant tell the difference in final photos. Just grab a solid body and put the rest of your budget into a decent prime lens. You'll be way happier with the results.
Stumbled upon this today. Honestly, I went through the same stress before my trip last year. I ended up grabbing something used to save cash, and it worked out great for my shots. Before you pull the trigger, are you planning on doing mostly video or just photography?
- Low light performance matters
