Im honestly so sick of my old DSLR. It weighs a ton and I swear the autofocus misses half the shots of my dog whenever we go to the park, which is like the only time I actually use the thing. Im ready to just throw it in the trash and switch to mirrorless but looking at prices right now makes me want to scream. Everything is so expensive! My budget is around 1200 bucks for a body and maybe one decent lens and honestly that just doesnt get me far with the newer Sony or Canon gear I want. I was thinking maybe I should wait for some big sale or something but I have a trip to Japan coming up in mid-November and I really need something lighter before then. My logic was that maybe retailers start clearing out inventory soon or there is some holiday thing coming up, but searching online just gives me a million clickbait articles that dont actually say anything useful. Is there any chance we see a drop in price on stuff like the R7 or maybe the A6700 before November or should I just bite the bullet and overpay now... because Im getting really desperate here.
Honestly, waiting for a massive sale on bodies like the Canon EOS R7 32.5MP APS-C or Sony Alpha a6700 26MP APS-C before November probably wont happen. They keep their value pretty well.
- Check the used market on MPB or KEH for better deals.
- Grab a used Sony Alpha a6400 24.2MP APS-C to save cash for a better lens.
- Your dog shots will thank you for the eye-tracking autofocus regardless of which model you grab.
@Reply #1 - good point! Honestly, are you open to buying used? I've used Sony Alpha a6400 24.2MP APS-C for years and it honestly kills for dog photos without breaking the bank.
