Im totally freaking out because my sisters wedding is coming up in just three weeks and my main lens literally just died on me. Like smoke and burnt smell died. I shoot on a Canon 80D and need a decent zoom lens fast, but my budget is super tight right now, like max 400 bucks. Ive been scouring the web trying to save some cash and Ive narrowed it down to a couple sketchy options. Refurbished directly from Canon online seems safer since it comes with a warranty, but shipping might take too long. Or I could roll the dice on a used copy from MPB or KEH which are cheaper and usually pretty reliable according to reddit threads, but Im terrified it wont arrive by next Friday. Should I just trust MPB and cross my fingers, or bite the bullet and pay a little extra for Canon refurbished? Where else can I even find discounted Canon lenses that wont scam me before the big day...
Totally agree with the mpb love, Ive bought tons of gear from them with zero issues. Since you are in a massive time crunch though, grab a Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM or a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD used locally on facebook marketplace. You can test it in person today, save shipping time, and stay way under budget. Good luck with the wedding shoot!
