ive been shooting with dslrs for years now and honestly I think its finally time to upgrade my gear since my old rebel is literally on its last legs. Im looking to switch over to mirrorless, maybe an r50 or an r10 if I can find a decent deal, but man retail prices are just killing me right now. Im based in Chicago and need something before my trip to Colorado next month so I cant wait too long for weird overseas shipping.
heres what im looking for basically:
- budget is around 600 to 800 max for a body plus kit lens
- needs to be official canon refurbished or at least a trusted reseller with a solid warranty cause I am way too paranoid about shutter counts
- preferably low actuation obviously
ive checked the usual spots like mpb and keh but stock keeps disappearing right when I get paid. are there any other secret sites or local shops around the midwest that actually have decent sales on refurbished canon gear right now?
> needs to be official canon refurbished or at least a trusted reseller with a solid warranty I honestly had some bad luck with third-party sites in the past, so I get the paranoia. Have you looked into the local camera shops around Chicago, or are you strictly hunting online? I'm curious if you've ever held a Canon EOS R10 24.2MP Mirrorless Camera in person, cause that grip feels way different than those old rebels. Would that fit your budget?
Are you open to buying body-only and grabbing a cheap adapter first so you can keep using your old glass? Might save you enough to snag a Canon EOS R10 Mirrorless Camera Body brand new on sale.
> needs to be official canon refurbished or at least a trusted reseller with a solid warranty cause I am way too paranoid You gotta check the Canon Refurbished store directly! I was super paranoid about shutter counts too before my Utah trip last year, but I grabbed a Canon EOS R50 Body straight from them with a full warranty and it looked brand new out of the box. Plus they throw holiday sales all the time!
