Where are the actual deals for cameras this Black Friday because I am honestly losing my mind looking at these sites. My current Nikon is literally falling apart and the shutter button sticks half the time, which is just brilliant when Im trying to shoot my sisters wedding next month. Seriously, I have been refreshing B&H and Adorama for days but everything is either the same price it was last week or sold out instantly.
Im working with about 1500 bucks max for a new body and maybe a lens, but every retailer seems to be hiding the good stuff or just pushing these weird bundles I dont want. Im in Chicago and need something reliable before the first week of December, but the lack of transparency is killing me. Does Amazon or Best Buy actually drop legit prices on Sony stuff or is it all just fake discounts? Im getting so sick of this constant searching and not finding anything that makes sense for my budget. Has anyone actually seen a shop that isnt just playing games with inventory right now...
Regarding those smaller shops, I honestly find them overpriced. Stick to major refurbs. You can grab a nearly new Sony Alpha a7 III 24.2MP Mirrorless Camera well within your budget.
Honestly, buying cameras this time of year is a total headache. I remember trying to snag a body right before a gig last December, and it was a mess. B&H is usually solid, but the inventory games are real. If you want a Sony setup on a budget, take a look at the Sony Alpha a6400 APS-C Mirrorless Camera 24.2MP with a decent prime lens. It fits well under your 1500 dollar limit, leaving room for glass. Best Buy is alright for immediate pickup in Chicago, but skip their weird bundles. Check out the open box section on their site too. Sometimes you can score a Sony Alpha a7 III Full-Frame Mirrorless 24.2MP for a steal if someone just returned it. Just dont wait too long since you need it for that wedding.
> everything is either the same price it was last week or sold out instantly. I totally feel your pain on this! Been thinking about your frustration all afternoon. Honestly, I think some of those smaller specialty shops might actually have better stock than the giant retailers right now. Someone mentioned to me that local camera stores often hide their best clearance inventory in-store to avoid the online madness. It's wild how hard it is to actually buy a camera these days!
