Ive been shooting with the X-Pro series since the X-Pro1 days but honestly Im losing my mind trying to find the perfect street lens for my X-Pro3. I thought the 23mm f2 would be the one but it just feels so clinical and the way it flares under street lamps is driving me nuts lately. I'm doing a lot more night work in Soho and I need something that actually has some character without being a total brick. Im getting really annoyed with the OVF blockage too... half the point of this camera is the viewfinder but my current setup makes it hard to see whats coming into the frame from the right.

Here is what I am looking for:

• Budget is around 700 to 800 dollars max
• Must have a physical aperture ring with decent clicks
• Fast autofocus is a must because I hate missing shots of people walking fast
• Not too bulky because I hate when the lens hood takes up 30 percent of the OVF

Im heading to Tokyo in three weeks for a ten day trip and I really need to get this sorted before I get on that plane. I was looking at the 18mm f1.4 but it looks massive in person and Im worried itll ruin the balance of the camera. Is the 35mm f1.4 too old and slow now or am I overthinking the AF noise? Just tell me what you guys are actually using day-to-day for candid stuff...
