im heading to tokyo in like three weeks and need a solid prime for my xt30. i keep seeing the 23mm f2 recommended as the gold standard for street but then others say the 35mm f2 is way better for subject isolation. my budget is capped at $500 so i can only grab one right now. which one is actually better for a first timer?

Definitely grab the Fujifilm Fujinon XF 23mm f/2 R WR! I took mine to Tokyo last year and it was honestly amazing for those tight Shinjuku alleys. The 35mm is cool but way too narrow when things get crowded. Since youre on a budget, this lens is a total steal and fits the XT30 perfectly. Youre gonna have a blast!
