I recently purchased the Panasonic Lumix S5 IIX and I'm in the market for a great video lens to pair with it. I'll be using the camera primarily for shooting videos, including interviews, product videos, and some occasional vlogging.
I'm looking for recommendations on the best lens options that would suit my needs. Factors I'm considering include:
- Autofocus performance for video
- Focal length versatility
- Optical image stabilization
- Affordability
Any suggestions from fellow S5 IIX users would be greatly appreciated!
Re: "For Panasonic S5 IIX, here are two of..." - man I am in the exact same boat right now! Been scouring the forums for weeks because I need something lighter than those massive zooms for my daily vlogging and client interviews. Its honestly so hard to find that perfect balance when you are just starting to build out an L-mount kit. I have been doing a ton of research for my own setup and found a couple of options that look fantastic for video:
- Panasonic Lumix S 18mm f/1.8
- This is amazing for vlogging since its wide enough to show the background and the AF is super snappy on the S5IIX.
- Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary
- Way smaller than the Art version and much cheaper too if youre on a budget. I love the Panasonic colors and the linear focus response on their native glass is a lifesaver for manual pulls, but Sigma is really killing it with the weight savings lately. Still trying to decide which way to go myself tho... the struggle is real!
Panasonic S5 II X is a full-frame mirrorless camera that excels in both photography and videography. When it comes to video, having the right lens can greatly enhance your footage.
