Im literally losing sleep over this. Got a Leica SL2 coming in next week for my commercial work in Chicago and I cant decide on glass. Ive spent the last three days reading every single forum thread out there... some people swear by the Sigma 35mm f1.2 Art for sheer sharpness while others say nothing touches the Leica 50mm APO. But the Sigma is a freaking heavy brick and the APO costs more than my used car lol. Im on a tight budget after buying the body and need something that wont let me down on client shoots. Seriously, which prime lens actually offers the sharpest image quality on L-mount without totally destroying my back or my bank account?
Re: What focal length do you actually shoot commercial... honestly, the Panasonic Lumix S 85mm f/1.8 is amazing for the price! Totally sharp, lightweight, and saves my back for those long days.
What focal length do you actually shoot commercial work with mostly? If you need a solid budget performer, the Sigma 35mm f2 DG DN Contemporary is pretty decent.
Congrats on the SL2, youll love it! If you want insane sharpness without going broke or breaking your back, grab the Sigma 45mm f2.8 DG DN Contemporary. Its super compact, crazy sharp where it counts, and won't kill your budget.
- Super lightweight for all-day Chicago shoots
- Incredible rendering and micro-contrast
- Leaves money in your pocket for client work
