What lens should I actually be using for my Nikon D750? Honestly im so fed up with my kit lens, the focus is constantly hunting and the sharpness is just garbage. I have a wedding shoot in two weeks in Seattle and im honestly panicking because I dont have $2000 to drop on glass right now. Is there anything decent that wont break the bank?

Ditch that kit lens, honestly. When I was starting out, I shot a few events with the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G and it changed everything for me. It is sharp, super lightweight, and handles low light way better than anything that came in the box. For a wedding, you definitely need something reliable that wont kill your budget.
- Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G for portraits and low light stuff.
- Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 if you can find a used deal for a versatile zoom. Using a prime forced me to move around more, which actually made my compositions better during those chaotic wedding moments. Just grab a fast prime and you will see a massive difference in sharpness and that focus speed you are craving.
