Ive been shooting with my trusty D850 for years now but Ive finally decided to ditch the kit zoom and move over to primes for better low light performance during my trip to Japan next month. I usually do street photography and some occasional portraits but I feel like my current setup is just way too bulky to carry around all day. Budget is around 800 bucks, maybe a bit more if its worth it. Should I go with the 35mm f/1.8 or is the 50mm f/1.4 gonna be better for general walkaround stuff? I just cant decide if I want that wider field of view or the extra bit of bokeh for portraits...

Honestly, grab the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G ED for street stuff. The 50mm is cool but way too tight for Japan streets imo. Here is why:
- 35mm is super versatile
- f/1.8 is plenty sharp
- lighter weight
