I just got a Sony a7iv and I'm freaking out because my trip to the Isle of Skye is in three weeks and I literally have zero lenses. I've been looking online and everyone says to get the 24-70 GM II but thats like way beyond my budget since I only have about $2200 to spend on glass right now. People also suggest the 35mm 1.8 for everyday stuff but I dont know if that covers enough ground for big landscapes. I'm so worried I'll pick the wrong ones and regret it while I'm out there. If you had to pick just three lenses that are absolute essentials for a Sony setup without breaking the bank too hard, what are they?

dont panic too much... the gm ii is sick but totally not necessary for a hobbyist budget. honestly, for isle of skye, you really need width for those cliffs. i'd look at the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 as your main workhorse lens. it is way lighter and cheaper than sonys top tier glass but still really sharp for the price. then get the Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD for those epic landscape shots. it even uses the same 67mm filter size as the other tamron, which makes life easier when swapping polarizers. for the third, maybe the Sony FE 85mm f/1.8 to get some nice compression on the mountains. its a killer combo and fits your $2200 budget perfectly. tl;dr: grab the tamron 28-75mm, the tamron 17-28mm, and the sony 85mm prime. covers basically everything and leaves you cash for the trip.
