This is the first image of the upcoming Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 70–200mm F2.8 ASPH Lens and Extender L 2.0x, leaked at LR.
According to LR, it will be officially announced very soon, maybe in a few days!
- Lens construction: 20 elements in 15 groups, with three aspherical surfaces
- Internal focusing
- Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 70–200mm f/2.8 ASPH lens price: £2,780 including VAT (around $3,500)
- Leica Extender L 2.0x price: £800 including VAT (around $1,000)
- The new lens will not be developed in-house. Leica will most likely use one of the existing Panasonic
Currently, only the Leica Extender L 1.4x for Vario-Elmar-SL 100-400mm f/5-6.3 lens is available on sale for $895.
