Fujifilm has announced the XF 500mm F5.6 R LM OIS WR (762mm equiv), a super telephoto APS-C lens for its X Mount system.
The lens includes linear focus motors and a focus limiter switch that prevents focusing on subjects closer than 5 meters. When utilizing the full range of focus, the minimum focus distance is 2.75 meters (9 feet).
The 500mm lens is compatible with Fujifilm’s 1.4x teleconverter, making it function like an F8 lens with an equivalent focal length of 1067mm. Additionally, it can be paired with the company’s 2x teleconverter, resulting in an equivalent focal length of 1,524mm, although this reduces the maximum aperture to the equivalent of F11.
This new lens costs $2,999, first available for pre-order at B&H/ Adorama.
